These are our first tattoos. They are the Kanji symbols for husband (right) and wife (left). My newly husband and I got them the second day after our wedding. We both worked in media at the time and have seen/heard all the stories about people not getting the meaning of the symbols “mixed up”. That being said, we had researched them over and over to get them right. They are located so that when we are in bed together they touch. My best friend and I got our 1st tattoo on 1/11/11! It is located on my right side.
We planned on getting matching tattoos for years and we finally got the guts to go for it. I want 2011 to be the year that I DO and experience new things. My best friend was my 1st boyfriend and 1st kiss, now he is very gay, but we are very close. We’ve been friends for over 8 years and have a common adoration for cats… more like obsession really. I’m so happy we will be able to share this tattoo for the rest of our lives <3

This is my 1st tattoo that I got for my brother. I kept this it a secret from my him for 2 years ( I kept changing the design so I didnt get it earlier), even though everyone else knew, and told him by sending him a text with the picture in it. It is of the Army Aviation symbol. My big brother has been in the army for 10 years and has always worked in aviation. He began as a mechanic on Apache Helicopters, then began flying Black-Hawks, now he has graduated the fixed wing program is is flying planes in Afghanistan. The saying “Never Quit, Never Die” is a saying he and his platoon came up with in bootcamp 10 years ago when they had to make a group mascott, name and slogan. They were the Witchdoctors and that was their saying. I flew out to South Carolina, from California, for his Graduation and he gave me the sweatshirt and sweat pants that had this name and slogan on them. I think it is something to live by and take it how you will. To him it was to keep fighting, never give up until we are free, to me its never quit and keep living for what you want. My brother is my hero, he has always been there when I needed him and has always cared more for others than himself. I have always aspired to keep my brothers aproval of the things I do. For some reason, I have no problem doing things that annoy the shit out of my parents but if it bothers my brother I tend to think twice (still do it sometimes but take his thought into consideration).
I understand some people do not support the War in Afghanistan, like myself, but I support my brother and the men that fight with him for our freedom, so I got this tattoo.
I apologize for how close it is, its hard to take a picture of my own back… this was taken 2 hours after I got it.
